MISSION STATEMENT 

Our students are future leaders, business owners, and culinary professionals who are dedicated to learning about food, food science, hospitality, finances, management, and entrepreneurship in an atmosphere of mutual respect, personal integrity, and unity. 

Our operational mission is for Culinary Arts students to successfully run an internal restaurant, create, prepare, and market unique products, explore food science, as well as cater on- and off-campus banquets and special events. We do these things to exceed the learning standards of the District and the State of Florida, to provide the best possible dining experience for the Wekiva High School Community, to fund student trips, learning opportunities, and paid internships, and to maintain and expand our kitchens and dining facility. 

Our financial mission is to be a fully self-sustaining, revenue-neutral program that can fund scholarships, pay interns, and be free for all financially under-served students.

VISION STATEMENT 

The Wekiva High School Academy of Culinary Arts has one over-arching goal: improving the future careers of all students by giving them an opportunity to learn solid business habits, practice the soft-skills of interpersonal communication, be exposed to profit-driven accounting, and gain valuable real-world entrepreneurship experience that will benefit them post-graduation in college, in technical education, and throughout their future careers. 

As a result of our focus on student growth across the curriculum, we will continue to expand our reputation as a visionary and successful Culinary Arts Program in academics, in food quality, in service, in revenue, and in competition.

The Wekiva High School Academy of Culinary Arts is the only Culinary Arts Magnet in Central Florida – and one of only a handful of such schools across the state. We will continue to push the boundaries of what our students do, maintaining our place as one of the best high school programs in the country.
